Upon Rising Take a high quality probiotic supplement on an empty stomach with a glass of water, which will help replenish the beneficial bacteria in your gut and aid in digestion. Dr. Ohhira’s Probiotics is a great brand and does not need to be refrigerated. Follow the probiotic with a glass of water with lemon juice. Lemon juice is highly alkalizing in the body and helps get your digestion going for the day.
If you’ve got a caffeine habit or enjoy a glass of wine with dinner, you’re out of luck. Seasonings, sweeteners, and salt are off this plan.
Absolutely love it!! Will do it with my husband ASAP. I was wondering what to do next…How should we continue with our normal diets after this 3 day detox? We already eat healthy, no fast food at all, everything homemade and as clean as possible, but I was wondering how to return to our regular healthy diet. Also, I suffer from migraines… Do you recommend NOT taking any medication during the detox? For example ibuprofen.
Why do you need a 3 Day Detox?
Great to read you’re doing the detox! Your usual diet sounds really healthy, so it won’t be any issue returning after doing the detox. Normally I would advise not taking any medication during the detox, but it might enhance your migraines, so please do as you feel to be comfortable. Drinking plenty of liquids (water, juices from the program, herbal tea) might help with migraines. Let me know how it was!
While Americans fall short on fruits and veggies, we’re overdoing it on sugar, consuming close to 20 teaspoons a day. Health authorities suggest capping added sugars at 6 teaspoons (equivalent to about 25 g) a day for women and 9 teaspoons (or about 36 g) for men. Challenge yourself to cut back on added sugar from sweetened yogurts, cereals and granola bars, as well as the usual suspects (soda, cookies, ice cream, cookies and other baked goods). You’ll appreciate the natural sweetness of fruit so much more when you cut unnecessary added sweeteners from your diet.
