Because kale can be a little difficult to break down in a smoothie, a high speed blender works best for this recipe. However, if you don’t have one you can always replace the kale with more spinach.
But either way, if you had too much candy or too many glasses of wine, this detoxifying green smoothie is just what the (holistic) doctor ordered!
If you’re feeling under the weather, or just trying to add more nutrients to your diet, this healthy green smoothie is a great way to start your morning.
Apples Apples are a great source of nutrition – they are high in fiber and vitamin C. Apples are pretty low in calories, but the fiber helps fill you up. Vitamin C, an antioxidant also known as ascorbic acid, is a water-soluble vitamin that your body can’t produce. That means it’s essential to get Vitamin C from foods high in the vitamin, such as cantaloupe, red bell pepper, and oranges.
There’s no dairy or nuts in this smoothie, so it’s a lighter smoothie. It’s naturally sweetened with apple and loaded with vitamin C. I love adding ginger to my smoothies and juices – the more, the better! It’s great for inflammation, nausea, and motion sickness.
Well, this smoothie is just the right amount of sweet, tart, and has some awesome natural detoxifiers like cucumber and lemon. Just one glass and I already started to feel better.
